Time: 7.00pm for 7.30pm This year the Branch Annual Dinner and Guest Night breaks with tradition to leave the Cambridge Universities and instead moves East to Newmarket and the fabulous Jockey Club Rooms. Location maps will be sent out with tickets and are also available by clicking the link above. Parking is available on site. The Branch Chairman, John Riches, and the Committee hope that members will take the opportunity to entertain their partners, guests and friends at what has always been an enjoyable social event. The Jockey Club Rooms is an exclusive Club used primarily by its Members during Race Meetings and the Bloodstock Sales at Newmarket. At other times of the year, however, this unique premises has recently been made available to non-members for private and corporate entertaining. Housing a wealth of fine equestrian art and racing memorabilia the Rooms provide an elegant setting for our annual dinner. Housing some of the best portraits ever painted by Emil Adam, the Dining Room also holds a glittering array of racing souvenirs. The portraits by Adam, comprise a unique gallery of Triple Crown winners - the Triple Crown being the winner of the 2,000 Guineas, the Derby and the St. Leger. Pictures include those of 'Ormonde', 'Isinglass', 'Diamond Jubilee' and 'Flying Fox' along with a picture of 'Persimmon ' who won the Derby and St. Leger. The souvenirs include the mounted hooves of 'Hermit', 'St. Simon', 'Persimmon' and 'Eclipse', the latter mounted on a gold plate and presented to the Jockey Club by King George V and Queen Mary. There are also a number of gold cups and trophies. The cost of the Dinner this year will yet again only be £40.00 per head, inclusive of VAT, which includes a sparkling wine reception in the gardens at 7.00pm before an excellent meal with wines, coffee and port soon after 7.30pm. In addition, an ad-hoc accompanied tour of the Jockey Club Rooms will be available before Dinner.
